pregnancy

I do enjoy being pregnant. I know I may in the minority, but I find the whole physical process just fascinating, especially when it comes to the baby moving within me. We may not have any more children after this, so I have tried to savor this pregnancy when I can. It is hard to take time to relish, though, when you are keeping up with the two older children. Having the perspective of already understanding what pregnancy is like and knowing all about my midwife and my childbirth options makes it a bit more relaxed, though. Having the amazing experience of seeing these two individual creatures we call our children grow, change and develop means that it is all the more unfathomable to imagine who exactly is "in there" this time!

I cannot believe how quickly this pregnancy has passed. It seems like just yesterday we were checking the pregnancy tests over and over in disbelief, and now we are down to the last month or two. We have been doing a lot around the house in preparation, trying desperately to get control of our clutter and establish an organizational structure so that we don't actually lose our minds when our schedules and sleep go haywire. Zora and Samuel have both been very sweet about kissing, singing and talking to my belly. We know Zora understands what is coming, but we aren't sure what Sam thinks of his fat-bellied mama.

Knowing that there will be another person to keep up with and chase around has motivated me to try to do more to get fit. I'm very lucky to have a friend who has been willing to walk with me, training me to participate in a 10K (walking!) at the end of March. It has been so cool to see that my body is more limited by my mind than anything else! I have also enjoyed doing prenatal yoga with the same instructor I had with my first two pregnancies. I hope that I can find a way to continue doing yoga after this baby is born, too, because it makes me feel strong and confident, and encourages me to want to do other healthy things.

I really have been neglectful of this blog, with no real excuse, and I hope some of you will nag me a bit when this happens again. There are so many stories and photos I should be sharing as we go, so that they won't be lost and forgotten in the hectic day-to-day activity.
