two reading recommendations

Don't worry, they are quick reads! We always get new books at the library when we go. Usually I try to find books about a subject we've been talking about, and I almost always try to check a few pages to see how long it is and how it reads (like are there a zillion words on each page, does it have a rhyme or rhythm to it, is it scary?). Occasionally, though, a book will catch my interest and even though I don't think Zora or Sam will be particularly interested, I'll still check it out. Yep, I am reading picture books these days.

When I was a child, one of my favorite places in the world was the library. The Boy who was Raised by Librarians by Carla Morris is a very sweet story. It totally made me tear up at the end. Surprisingly enough, Zora sat through the whole book, and even gave it the seal of approval by requesting it again as soon as I finished reading it.

Another book that I have just loved is Sarah Stewart's The Gardener. This book is great! It is set during the Great Depression. Lydia Grace goes from the country to live in the city with an uncle while money is tight. She transforms his world. I got teary-eyed at this one, too. ZOra likes this one, too.

So, hit the library and check these out!
